Gen Z AND DUMB HONES BY KELLY JEAN SULLIVAN

Generation Z, despite being digital natives immersed in technology from a young age, is showing a growing interest in using "dumb phones" as a counterbalance to their hyper-connected lives.

This shift stems from a desire to regain control over their time and mental well-being, reducing the constant barrage of notifications and distractions associated with smartphones. By opting for simpler devices that prioritize basic functions like calling and texting, Gen Z is intentionally seeking to cultivate more meaningful, face-to-face interactions and minimize the stress of digital overload.

This trend reflects a broader movement among young people to prioritize mindfulness, focus, and genuine connections over the incessant demands of social media and apps.
