Holistic wellness is an approach to health that views all aspects of an individual's life and how they interact with their environment. Holistic wellness purports that all individuals may play a role in their own wellness rather than relying solely on a medical model to treat illness and disease.
Holistic health is about caring for the whole person — providing for your physical, mental, spiritual, and social needs. It's rooted in the understanding that all these aspects affect your overall health, and being unwell in one aspect affects you in others
Self-care practices like acupuncture, chiropractic care, and mindfulness are also good ways to nurture the whole body, mind, and spirit.
Role of the Teacher

All teachers need to ensure that students acquire the knowledge, skills and attitudes that will lead to positive health and wellness lifestyles. Also, all teachers are constantly on display in front of their students and have a unique opportunity to role model positive health and wellness behaviors.
The teacher, who bases his/her work on the basic principles of holistic development, allows the child to discover and understand the different correlations and links. Then the learning becomes personal and socially relevant, and knowledge becomes as part of the child's experience (Miller, 2007)
