·          Specialized instruction from accommodations –this type of instruction is use dot increase the student’s access to academic content through instruction in the general accommodations.

(IEP) what needs to be considered when choosing what will use

Who gets accommodations -504 section 504 of rehab act 1973 public schools provide accommodations tall student with disabilities

·          Curriculum accommodations are changes in the way a student access learning without changing the actual standard a student is working towards

·         Presentation accommodations-access material that doesn’t require the students to visually decode standard print teacher needs to provide alternative tactile and auditory formats .teacher will make changes in how to present lessons in

·         setting =change locations in which instruction is given or the condition of setting

·         Timing /scheduling =accommodations allows students to change allowable length of time for their assignments ,projects test and the way they organize time

*remember accommodations do not reduce learning expectations they proved assess

·          Modifications-changing ,lowering or reducing the learning expectations modifications can result in a bigger gap between one student and other and may result in implications that may adversely affect the student

Modifications-

1. Requiring a student to learn less material (fewer pages and shorter lessons)

2. Reducing assignments tests only doing the easiest problems

3. Revising assignments tests making it easier by crossing out questions on the test

4. Giving students hints or clues to correct responses on tests and assignments

·           Clinical teaching –programs that provide professional training under teacher.

·           Differentiated instruction –framework or philosophy for effective teaching that involves providing all students within their divers classroom community of learners.it is an organized but flexible way to proactively adjust teaching and learning methods on how to accommodate each child to achieve max growth .pre assessment test help see how the student leans  a range of different avenues for understanding new information must consider the student spreading level interests and the teacher must set up different expectations for task completion based on each need.

Teacher must be aware of how student -

·         Acquires content

·         Processes content

·         Makes sense of ideas

*The student becomes more independent as smaller skills are learned and it increases the ability to perform larger task.

1. Identify task

2. Break the task down to sub tasks

3. Identify all tasks

·          Technology in the classroom. =

Technology improves teaching and learning and helps student be successful. Technology helps teachers grow into roles of advisor and content expert and coach.

·         Some examples are

·         Electronic whiteboard

·         Desktop laptops

·         Projectors
